For each U.S. motorist, bad roads cost an average of $324 per year in extra vehicle repairs and operating costs.

Workdays lost to traffic.
Drivers with a 30-minute commute lose 22 hours a year (nearly three full work days) sitting in traffic.

The monies generated by Question 3 will be used to enhance communities throughout the state. Hundreds of proposals submitted by RIDOT and RIPTA — along with cities, towns and community organizations — were considered by the State Planning Council and its Transportation Advisory Committee.
